Zabbix 6.2 improves configuration management and performance for large Zabbix instances
The most significant features added in Zabbix 6.2 include:
Zabbix performance improvements and internal changes
Significant design changes have been made to the way Zabbix performs configuration updates. The latest release adds support for incremental configuration updates, which can significantly improve the performance of large Zabbix instances. As part of the internal design changes, a new cache for user macros has also been implemented. The refined design of user macro caching can also bring significant performance improvements for Zabbix instances of various sizes. In addition, new items are now checked within one minute of their creation, which improves the work in solving problems and overall monitoring workflows – the so-called Monitoring workflows.Ability to suppress irrelevant issues
Zabbix administrators can now reduce intrusive redundant listings by suppressing irrelevant Zabbix issues for a period of time or until manual removal. Action operations associated with suppressed problems will be suspended until the suppressed problem reports are removed.
CyberArk vault support for storing secret data
Zabbix 6.2 added official support for secure storage in the CyberArk vault (in addition to the previously supported HashiCorp vault). The new feature allows you to encrypt connections using certificates from the vault, secure database access data and sensitive user macro content. It also supports configuring and reading from the vault for Zabbix through the Zabbix API.The official AWS EC2 template
The official AWS EC2 template allows Zabbix users to track AWS EC2 alarms, discover and monitor AWS EBS volumes, and collect data about CPU, network, disk, and a lot of other EC2 metrics.
Instant synchronization of Zabbix proxy configuration
The new version 6.2 enables immediate synchronization of the monitoring configuration on the Zabbix proxy for active and passive proxy servers – directly from the Zabbix frontend (graphical web interface). The monitoring configuration in the Zabbix proxy server can now be updated from the Administration – Proxies section, or from the command line directly on the Zabbix server or using the Zabbix API.
Improved control of discovered guest devices
Guests discovered (created) from guest prototypes now support manual editing of templates, tags, and user macros. This can also be used with the VMware monitoring function, where various custom templates can be applied to the discovered VMware guests.
Monitoring the status of active agents checks
